We are asking for a meeting. We are asking for process reform.

Dear Father Richard Jakubik and Bishop Mark Bartosic,
Grace and Peace to you,
I am writing as a member/supporter of The Faith Community of Saint Sabina to respectfully request a response to the letter submitted by our church leadership and congregation regarding the process used in addressing allegations of sexual abuse.
As members of the Church, we believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and fairness. We alsobelieve that both those who come forward with allegations and those who are accused deserve a process that is transparent, just, and respectful of their rights.
To date, our understanding is that no response has been received to our request for a meeting. This lack of communication has caused uncertainty, greif, and disruption within our faith community.
Therefore, I respectfully ask:
  • Will the Archdiocese meet with representatives of The Faith Community of Saint Sabina to discuss these concerns?
  • Will the current process be reviewed to determine whether reforms are needed to better protect the rights of all parties while maintaining accountability and care for victims?
This request is offered in a spirit of faith, respect and a sincere desire to strengthen trust within our Church. I pray that meaningful dialogue can take place and that togetherwe can work toward a process that reflects both justice and compassion.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and response.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Respectfully,
[YOUR NAME]
Member/Supporter, The Faith Community of Saint Sabina
